Only War
In the dark grimness of the far future, there is only war...
The Terran Imperium, United Systems Republic, and the Ruinous Cults are stuck in a never-ending war as planets will evolve into different types - falling into ruin as dead worlds or rising to become ecumenopoli - and fleets and sent to conquer new worlds. You are only a small cog in the machine of whatever faction you choose to play as you can fly as a fighter, interceptor, or bomber to destroy enemy fleets and help the war effort.

Post Game Jam Update:
- Performance and shader issues are mostly solved - should be a much smoother experience now
- There is now an arrow to the nearest star to help with navigating.
- Armies now properly invade other planets, allowing for much more dynamic wars.
- There is a pause menu for in-game help, changing your team, restarting the game, and exiting the game.
- Shipyards have been added to planets (mostly give turrets for defence, but will be used in the future to allow player ship changes, upgrades, and more).
- Some visual improvements to make combat feel better.
Update 2:
- New faction: The Blossoming. These take the form of various large seeds throughout the galaxy that will periodically blossom and release clusters of flower-inspired ships to attack every other faction.
- Gates: There are intergalactic gates every-so-often in the galaxy. When one of the factions controls 50% or more of the total planets, gates will activate to call in fleets for the other factions.
- Each faction now has an additional battleship in their inventory they will deploy from more populated planets, albeit rarely.
- Music has been added for both the main menu and gameplay.
- The intro-cutscene is now skippable and has additional slides explaining the three main factions.
- Sound effects have varying pitch to make them less repetitive.
- A lot of optimization was done to make the high amount of ships and bullets less resource-intensive (collisions were reworked, bullets have an object pool, etc.).

Immediately got lost and couldn't find any way to do anything ever again!
Oh dear. I think I'll see if I can add some sort of indicator for the nearest star to help prevent that.
Gooood idea! :)
I have now updated the game to have that feature if you ever want to try it again!
Yay I tried! Except this time I couldn't figure out what to do. I couldn't shoot anything and they couldn't shoot me. And one planet had -1/0 fleets. But then eventually i found some enemies and they killed me!
Ah, I guess I still have more work to do then.
